American Sign Language Association is a student organization who’s mission is to assist all those involved and to promote their education and understand of American Sign Language those who use it. We achieve cultural and linguistic understanding through empowerment skills, access to Deaf community events, and meaningful volunteerism. The American Sign Language Association aids in developing positive self-esteem as well as a positive attitude towards the Deaf community and American Sign Language. We hold multiple events throughout the school year that involve all levels of skills, from beginners to the most advanced signers including members of the Deaf Community.

EKU Gospel Ensemble - Gospel ensemble is a small choir that sings mostly traditional and contemporary gospel/Christian music. We often visit and sing at several different locations during the year (at times out of town). We provide a safe Christian atmosphere to members. There are currently no dues required; simply come by and sing praises with us!

Feminist for Change is a student activist organization that strives to illuminate issues surrounding and directly affecting the injustice faced by women and their equality at EKU, in Kentucky and throughout the world. FFC brings these issues to light in an effort to eradicate them. The group accomplishes these goals through direct education and activism.

Student Association - ISA is an organization for both American and international students. We represent over 200 students from 50 different countries. ISA promotes and protects the interests of international students at Eastern. We help new incoming international students adjust in the community. We sponsor speakers' bureau, and ISA members volunteer to speak in schools and organizations. We also participate and sponsor a variety of cultural and sports events.

Latino Student Union - The Purpose of LSU is to provide education about the diversity of Latino culture, organize and promote Latino cultural events and holidays, and to actively engage in advocacy and activism that promote access to higher education for Latino students. LSU at EKU seeks to create a community where incoming Latino students find support and encouragement on campus. Meeting time are typically Mondays at 2:30pm. In the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs.

M.A.R.S. - It is the vision of M.A.R.S. to empower men to realize how important their role is in ending violence against women. It is our goal to work with women’s organizations to help spread the word and join together in educating all members of our community on the issue of violence against women and gender violence. We believe that working together as males and females will mot only empower our cause, but help to gain strength that will ultimately create change.

OWLS (Older Wiser Learners)
- OWLS is the only non-traditional student organization on campus. The Purpose of OWLS at EKU is to offer an association to meet the needs of the Non-Traditional student in a way that will enhance their college career and expand their college experience. We provide advocacy, education, and support for non-traditional students at EKU.

Pride Alliance - The purpose of this organization is to provide information, education, and opportunity for growth and support to the homosexual, bisexual, transgender, and heterosexual student body and to any other member of the student body, faculty, staff and the community at large which may desire to obtain it.
Pride Alliance provides outreach services and education to the community as a whole for both the purposes of improving the community and the image of the students within the organization. Pride Alliance furthermore provides information on the historical role of the sexually oriented minority groups in America and the world society. Meetings are located in the University Building Room 229 every Tuesday night at 9:00 PM. |
