Hispanic Heritage
Fiesta
This event is held in recognition of Hispanic Heritage month as a campus
celebration. Along with other heritage month events this event is held
as cultural edification for the community.
UnityFest
The UnityFest will be held every spring for the campus community as an
effort to promote unity and tolerance on campus. Several student organizations
and university departments collaborate to celebrate the unity in diversity.
Everyone is urged to attend this event, as it is a day packed full of
excitement, energy, and good wholesome fun.
NPHC Step Show
Each year as part of EKU’s Homecoming celebration, the National
Pan-Hellenic Council sponsors a black Greek step show. If you have never
been to a step show, this is a treat you don’t want to miss!
Cultural Awareness Months
Throughout the year, many cultures are recognized and honored during what
is referred to as heritage or cultural awareness months. During each of
these months, events are held to provide recognition to the diverse cultures
of this world.
Mix-It-Up Lunch
The Mix-It-Up Lunch is open to the EKU campus community. This event, which
is held once every semester, allows participants to get “mixed up”
and eat together. The main purpose of this event is to give participants
the opportunity to share lunch, in a comfortable setting, with those individuals
who might not normally be at the same dining table. We then encourage
dialogue that promotes cultural awareness.
Honoring the Black Student: Past and Present
This event honors both past and present EKU students. The current students
are acknowledged for their academic achievement, outstanding leadership
and dedicated service; while former students, on the other hand, are recognized
for the legacy they have left behind for present and future EKU students.
